Open Invitation

June 2019

Flynn Open Participant:
Can you believe it’s been 25 years since the first Flynn Open? Twenty-five years of golf, fun and Arlene’s potato salad.  Join us on July 13 at Bob-O-Links Golf Course in Avon so the tradition can continue. Once again, we will be using a shotgun format, starting at 8:45 a.m., which will give us lots of time after golf to enjoy what we REALLY keep coming back for—catching up with friends, drinking beer and eating Arlene's world-famous potato salad.

The 26th Annual Flynn Open includes the usual:

  • 18 holes and a cart

  • The (in)famous Flynn Chefs grilling some of the best brats & dogs at the turn.

  • Grill-your-own-steak dinner, potato salad and other goodies.

  • Beer and beverages.

  • Lots of quirky prizes for the winner, losers....oh, anyone who attends!

  • Fun and laughter with family, friends and a few strangers

  • Beer is provided – no alcohol is permitted to be brought to the course.

Do you want to be part of Cleveland's best golf outing? (OK, best for the duffers and the drinkers out there.) We were a little delayed in getting the website updated this year, but it’s ready to go – flynnopen.com.  We encourage you to go to our site and see past year’s photo gallery, sign up for the day’s events, make a donation, purchase raffle tickets or just leave us a note.

While the Flynn Open is a golf event, it’s probably most appreciated for the chance to have fun with good friends and family. Over the year’s we have raised money for several personal, local and national charities that have a personal connection to a member of the family or a participant at the outing.  This year’s charity is very personal to the Flynn Open and the Flynn Family. Jim Sr. was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2011.  While he is fortunate that the disease has not affected him as severely as others, it has been a painful challenge for him.  In order to help fund research for a cure for Parkinson’s, the Flynn family will be walking in Columbus on Sunday September 8 – it’s our chance to speak up about Parkinson’s disease and move others to take action.  It’s a movement for change – towards more awareness, more funding and more understanding of a disease that affects so many. The link to our team page is below.  Donations can be made at the Open, through our Flynn Open website or directly to the link below. If you are interested in walking with us on September 8th, you can sign up via the link below.
